Built in 1899, the St. Peter?s by the Sea Episcopal Church is a beautiful historic church in Sitka, Alaska. It is one of the rare houses of worship that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for everybody who is interested to drop by.

The St. Peter?s by the Sea Episcopal Church, also known as the St. Peter?s Episcopal Church, is also the home to the ?See House? or the Bishop?s residence. As Sitka was the capital of Alaska when the church was built, it was necessary that it housed the Bishop and his family. This is also why the first bishop, Bishop Rowe, was interred here, as well as his family.

The most notable highlight of the St. Peter?s by the Sea Episcopal Church is its stained window decor that has a Star of David in it. People make a point to see this emblem on a Christian church since it is so unusual.
