The Totem Heritage Center is a small museum in Ketchikan, Alaska. It is best described as a place mainly dedicated to totem poles.

The establishment of the Totem Heritage Center is quite a fascinating story. It was created in 1976 as a way to salvage and preserve the 19th century totem poles found in the abandoned Tlingit and Haida villages near Ketchikan. The collection grew and now, the totem poles aren?t the only displays on the site. There are also other Native Alaskan artifactsas well as traditional arts and crafts that can be seen at the center.

The Totem Heritage Center also offers classes and other programs that promote the local culture and history. So, if you?re in town and you?re interested in these things, make sure to drop by.
