There is probably no other park in the United States that offer ?stargazing on/by the lake? as its featured recreational activity. But that is just what the Alamo Lake State Park in La Paz County, Arizona just have. The Alamo Lake State Park is a state park built around its namesake, the Alamo Lake, a man-made reservoir and flood control dam located about 38 miles north of the nearest city, Wenden.

The state park is popular for its ?wild? outdoor feel, owing to the lack of paved roads and the park?s isolation. Accessible only via dirt roads off US Route 60, the park is often described as the state?s ?best kept secrets?. The lush hills, greenfields and forests offer exciting activities such as camping and hiking. Wildlife enthusiasts flock to the park to behold the park?s resident wildlife such as the nation?s symbol, the Bald Eagle. Probably its best offering, the park is a prime destination for stargazers and astrologers.
Fishing is also a regular recreation here, thanks to the rich population of fish in the lake. The lake hosts regular fishing competitions, as well as boat and swim races.
