Formerly known as the Arizona Museum of Science & Technology, the Arizona Science Center started out in 1984 as a 10,000 square feet undersized exhibit at the parking level of Phoenix Hyatt. During its first year, over 87,000 people came to visit and as the center flourished through the years, they were able to grow their current facility at the Heritage and Science Park into a 400,000-square-foot gallery and more.

The Arizona Science Center boasts of more than 350 permanent interactive exhibits, a modern 200-seater Dorrance Planetarium, and a 285-seater monster screen IMAX Theater. They also feature traveling exhibits from time to time and hold various science programs and activities for kids and adults. The Center is complete with multimedia lecture rooms, a gift shop, food and dining areas.
