Arizona has been home to several American Indian populations for more than a thousand years now. Thus, the state has plenty of pueblo ruins scattered across it. One of the most notable of is sites is Casa Malpais in Springerville, Az.
Casa Malpais is estimated to have been built around 1269 AD and survived up until around 1400. The name of the site roughly translates to ?House of the Badlands? which refers to the desolate area that surrounds it. The site is characterized by several interesting and unique features that will surely interest visitors.

On e of the most notable of these features is the Observatory, which true to its name has been used by its inhabitants to observe astronomical phenomena.
