The Homolovi State Park is a historical state park located in Winslow, Arizona. Ther park preserves over 300 archaeological sites of Ancetral Peubloan origins.
The sites themselves are located in seven clusters of pueblo ruins built by several prehistoric peoples. This location for a settlement was probably chosen as the area on the floodplain of the Little Colorado River and as such is a fertile ground for the cultivation of corn, beans, squash, and cotton. Two of the seven Homolovi sites are open to visitors. The site referred to as Homolovi II is the largest and most thoroughly excavated of the sites.
The park visitor?s center displays artifacts like pottery and baskets that were found in the area and offers and introduction to the human history of the area covered by the park.
