The Pioneer Living History Museum started its construction in September 1963. At first, separate exhibits were already being held in other buildings like the school and the church. But, on February 15, 1969, the Official Grand Opening of Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum was finally celebrated.

From the time it was first sought as a dream 13 years ago, only 2 of the eight founding members lived to attend the Museum’s Grand Opening. Today, the Pioneer Arizona Living History is at its Phase 1. It is still lined up with a series of restorations, improvements, as well as an enhanced programming, which will offer its visitors a new and exciting adventure every time they take a look around. It continues to become the preeminent embodiment of the history of Arizona.
