The Sedona Historical Society is a non-profit organization that heavily promotes the culture and heritage, lifestyle, and the pioneers of the Sedoma community, which dates back in 1876 up to the present. Located in Jordan Historical Park at Jordan Road, the museum houses several artifacts, memorabilia, historical accounts of local and movie stars, exhibits and galleries, and more. It also showcases the beginnings of the orchard industry within Sedona.

The museum building used to be a farm home Walter and Ruth Jordan, both pioneers within the community. One of the rooms inside the museum highlights the Sedona family and its belongings and original furnishings. Other rooms were used to keep old artifacts of the old Sedona. A hall is dedicated to 100 feature movies that were made within the community.

Due to the area?s panoramic view, Sedoma was often used as moviemaking location. Most of the movies were the community was features was highly documented and preserved inside the museum. Stories shared by the actors and actresses were preserved and exhibited as well. The most notable movies include Zane Grey?s Call of the Canyon and the Angel and the Badman starring John Wayne. Some of the streets in Sedoma were also named after movies such as Pony Soldier, Gun Fury, and Johnny Guitar. Star stars who visited Sedona were James Stewart, Henry Fonda, Glenn Ford, Robert Deniro and other prominent stars.

Real cowboys played a major real in Sedona?s heritage. During the early days, ranching played a major role within the area and still exists up to this day. Thanks to these cowboys and a few women, ranching, riding and branding became rodeo sports and its popularity grew to other neighboring communities. Majority of these historical accounts and memorabilia from cowboys are now preserved inside the Sedona Heritage Museum.

The property of the Sedona Heritage Museum is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
