Riders become curious when they pass by this part of Arizona. The Thing has been a tourist attraction since the 1950s. The animated electronic signage outside the building attracts the curiosity of every foreign visitor. The catch is to unravel ?The Mystery of the Desert?.

Those who want to take the challenge will have to pay their dollar inside the gift shop, will have to buzz to a steel door, and then enter the courtyard leading to the place to discover The Thing. Yellow big-foot signs are painted on the walls to direct the challenger towards the right path. Though the feeling would be very exciting, former visitors recommend savoring the displays in the first buildings rather than rushing to unravel the mystery.

Among the displays in Shed 1 include a 70-year old Rolls Royce which said to be used once by Hitler and also a steel cage with cravings of tortured people. On the other hand, the second building exhibits a 1960s polyester carpet together with plywood cubicles holding valuable items. Also in the second shed are cabinets filled with Ralph Gallagher art designs carved from solid wood.

The yellow footprints end in the third building where The Thing lies just inside the doorway. Two things are being asked. The first one is like a Chinese conical hat while the other one is inside in a box of white cinder block. When asked what the thing is, Manager Jerry Bone said that for a cost of five dollar, he?ll reveal the answer. Many tourists and locals take the challenge for the price of a few dollars at the cost of their own fun.
