To experience football in the desert, simply head out to the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This multi-purpose sports stadium is the home of the 2009 Super Bowl finalist, Arizona Cardinals. It is also the host stadium for other sports events such as the annual NCAA championship game Fiesta Bowl and BCS National Championship Game, which it hosts every four years.

Opened on August 1, 2006 after three years of construction, this 63,400-seat stadium features the first fully removable natural grass playing surface. The wide opening on one side of the stadium allows the playing field to be taken out to allow holding of other events without incurring damage to the surface.
The University of Phoenix acquired the naming rights for the stadium in 2006. Other notable sports events that the stadium has hosted include Super Bowl XLII, WrestleMania XXVI and Monster Jam Summer Heat.
