The Wildlife World Zoo opened in 1984 initially as a zoo. In 2008, after almost seven years of planning and building, the Wildlife World Zoo had expanded with the addition of its full-service aquarium. With the aquarium?s construction, the place has solidified its status as having the state?s biggest collection of exotic animals. It serves as home to more than 4,000 animals and which belong to almost 600 different species.

The aquarium currently consists of three buildings and features over seventy-five indoor exhibits that focus on a variety of fish, birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. Each of the aquarium?s buildings is designed according to a unique theme: Predators, The Wild and the Wonderful, and The Diversity of Life in Water. The aquarium?s most popular species include the likes of the barracuda, dwarf and Nile crocodiles, jellyfish, and various species of seahorses.
