The Historic Arkansas Museum first opened its doors in 1941. Then, it was known as the Arkansas Territorial Capital Restoration. The museum, together with the Old State House, is now known as the official history museums of the state.

One of the famous exhibits in the museum would be the Knife Gallery, which features the interesting history of the Bowie Knife. The museum is also famous for its wide collection of pioneer artefacts. Other collections of the museum include quilts, Caddo pottery, silver, jewelry, guns, artworks, and even hunting horns.

There?s never a boring moment at the museum. Visitors may explore the museum?s Heritage Garden and chat with its volunteer gardeners. They can also enjoy tours under costumed actors when touring the antebellum home that houses the museum. Kids are also guaranteed to have fun playing any one of the pioneer games hosted at the site.
