For a different kind of hot bath experience, you should visit Arkansas and go to the ?American Spa?, officially known as the Hot Springs National Park.

Nature meets health and relaxation in this 5,550-acre National Park. Initially known as Hot Springs Reservation, it was created on April 20, 1832 by Congress to protect the 47 hot springs and forest around them. It is the oldest National Park in existence ? in fact, it is 40 years older than the Yellowstone National Park. Since the time of the American Indians, people have been using the hot springs for therapeutic baths. The potable spring water contains mineral traces that are good for the health.

The park also protects eight historic bathhouses, also known as Bathhouse Row, a National Historic Landmark. At present, 2.5 million visitors flock to the site yearly. Visitors can enjoy hot springs bath, as well as hiking, camping, picnics and scenic drives.
