The Lake Poinsett State Park is a state park and recreation area in Harrisburg, Arkansas. It is one of the four state parks that can be found along the Crowley?s Ridge.

Considered as a fisherman?s haven, the Lake Poinsett State Park is Arkansas?s 20th state park. It was created in the 1950s when local residents initiated efforts to have a recreational lake built in the area. With the aid of the former Arkansas governor Orval Faubus, a 640 lake was completed by 1960 by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Today, the Lake Poinsett State Park offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy camping, picnicking, hiking, boating, and fishing. There are also interpretative programs, guided kayak tours, and annual special events held at the site.
