A few miles northwest of capital city of Little Rock, Arkansas lies the Pinnacle Mountain State Park. This 2,000-acre park features Pinnacle Mountain, a 1,011-foot high mountain dotting the Arkansas River Valley. This is one of the many state parks in the state of Arkansas, which aims to preserve and promote the beautiful and bountiful natural resources of the state.

Activities in the park include hiking, biking and nature watching. Visitors can take a number of hiking trails within the park. Two of the most popular trails lead to the Pinnacle Mountain?s summit. One is the East Summit Trail, a steep rocky route, and the other is the West Summit Trail, which is less difficult and therefore heavily used by hikers. There is also the 3.5-mile long Base Trail, which completely circles the base of the mountain and connects the East and West Summit trailheads.
