The Powhatan Courthouse State Park is a state park and historic site in Powhatan, Arkansas. It preserves a small 19th century river port town that was once a hub of the region?s commerce, politics, and industry.

The town of Powhatan traces its roots back to 1829 when the first steamboat, the Laurel, arrived in the area. It ushered settlement and growth in the region, so by 1837, a name was given to the growing community. It was named after the Virginia Native American chief and father of Pocahontas. By 1873, the first courthouse was completed, although it burned down 12 years later, it was replaced in 1888 and can be found at the Powhatan Courthouse State Park today.

The Powhatan Courthouse State Park is open every Tuesdays through Sundays.
