The name of the Black Mountain Tower came from its location. Placed on top of the Black Mountain in Canberra, it is a telecommunication tower and an observation deck with a revolving restaurant. Being inside the tower will put visitors over 195 meters above the summit.

Opened in May 15, 1980, the construction of the tower wasn?t exactly the smoothest transaction ever. It had to be decided by the High Court of Australia, due to public concerns with it being damaging to other landmarks in the area. Today, however, the Black Mountain Tower is already considered as one of Canberra?s top tourist attractions and plays a huge part in the telecommunication network.
