The Museum Victoria is the largest public museum organization in Australia which operates three museums. These three museums house most priced historical items, science inventions, and cultural artifacts that are most significant to the history and culture of Australia and other related states and nations. It is considered as the first public museum in the state which was built in 1840. After three decades, the Science Museum was built in 1870. Under the Museum Act, the convergence of these museums was mandated and formalized. Today, Museum Victoria operates the Carlton Garden?s Melbourne Museum, Spotwood?s Science and Melbourne Planetarium, and Immigration Museum in Flinder Street.

Primarily, the National Museum of Victoria?s collections focused more on natural sciences. Later on, the museum started to collect other significant pieces which are all part of Australia?s history and culture. For more than one and half century of existence, Museum Victoria was able to enrich its priceless collections and displays of Australia?s culture and environment history. These collections are categorized under three main domains which are Indigenous Cultures, History, Science and Technology.

For a comprehensive display of Australia?s history, indeed, Museum Victoria offers a lot of knowledge and information to everyone who decided to visit any of the three. With 16 million cover of collections conserved in state-of-the-art facilities, people will never fail to admire the most precious remains and symbols of the past and be awed in interactive exhibitions scheduled occasionally in the museum. A perfect place for students, locals, travellers and historians to dig knowledge and very significant information in different topics.
