The Andrew Molera State Park is a state park and recreation area in Big Sur, California. It is best noted for its several points of interest and as an excellent camping venue.
Founded in the mid-1900s, the Andrew Molera State Park was originally a ranch owned by the Molera family. It is named after Andew Molera who introduced the artichoke to the state of California in 1922. The property was later sold to the state in condition that the park will be named after Molera.
Popular activities that are enjoyed at the site include fishing, camping, hiking, swimming, biking, surfing, beachcombing, and horseback riding. There?s also the historic 1861 Cooper Cabin on the site, as well as a Discovery Center containing information and displays about indigenous flora and fauna in the area.
