The Bay to Breakers 12K is held every 3rd Sunday of the month of May and perfect to be joined by all running enthusiasts. It will soon celebrate its 100th birthday this 2011 and it is known to be one of the biggest foot races in the entire globe. It is composed of about 65,000 participants and about a hundred thousand in the audience section.

Its name reflects the old school course which takes the participants from the northeastern part of downtown right near the Bay or what they call as the Embarcadero; and right to the western part of the city which is the breakers of the Ocean Beach. This is also perfect for the expert marathon runners who like to achieve a greater sense of award in California.
