The Castle Crags State Park is a state park and recreation area in Castella, California. It is a popular tourist attraction along the Interstate 5.

Although, most of the actual crags are located inside the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, the site was still named after the ?dramatic and well-known? rock formation. The Castle Crags State Park also has quite a colorful history. It was once a mining area, where the 1855 Battle of Castle Crags took place. The park was created around the 1930s in efforts of protecting the area from the destruction that lumber and mining operations are about to cause.

Visitors can enjoy a wide range of outdoor recreational activities at the site including camping, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, and fishing.
