The Dockweiler State Beach is a state park and protected beach in Playa del Ray, California. It is located right next to the Los Angeles International Airport.

Noted for being one of the few beaches in Los Angeles County to allow bonfires, the Dockweiler State Beach is a pretty popular destination all year round. A lot of people actually enjoy going to the site to swim, surf, and have some barbeques on any of the several concrete pits that are available on the site. It is said that it creates a very unique experience, as you get to relax by the waters in a backdrop of aircraft takeoffs. Another interesting attraction of the park is its hang gliding flight training area.
