The El Capitan State Beach is a state park in Goleta, California. Offering a protected beach area, the park is a popular destination for many, especially since it is situated right next to a highway.

Like many state parks, the El Capitan State Beach has its advantages and weaknesses. Starting with the great things about it, its campgrounds are located near the beach, so going next to the water will only take you a couple of minutes. Some campgrounds are located quite far, but they tend to offer great views. Aside from this, they also have a convenience store at the site, making it easy for visitors to grab whatever they have forgotten to bring.

Its location, however, is also a disadvantage. A lot of people complain about the noise the highway brings. The trails are also slightly disappointing as they are paved and better designed for bikers and not hikers.
