The El Escorpion State Park is a small state park in West Hills, California. Its proximity to the city makes it a popular destination among folks looking for some quick escape from the daily hustle and bustle of their lives.

Despite being small with only 3 acres of area, the El Escorpion State Park is filled with things to see and do. Its main attraction is the geographic landmark that it contains, the Escorpion Peak (also known as the Castle Peak). The site is named after it.

Due to its main feature, hiking is one of the most popular activities at the El Escorpion State Park. However, climbing the peak is not for everyone, especially the rough south side trail. It is not for beginners and children as there will be a point where hikers will need to climb over boulders and other rocks. It can prove challenging to experienced and expert hikers, though.
