The Gray Whale Cove State Beach is a state park in Montara, California. It features a beautiful beach that is tucked away on the coast, making it more secluded and less crowded.
Described by many as an excellent alternative to the beaches of Santa Cruz, the Gray Whale Cove State Beach offers an excellent setup, offering a sheltered cove that is surrounded by cliffs that drop directly to the Pacific Ocean. The water is clean and the sand is nice. It is popular for swimming, picnicking, and surfing. Wildlife viewing is also common, especially since gray whales can be chanced upon close to the shore.
Before heading out to the Gray Whale Cove State Beach, be aware that the site is also a nude beach. There are no signs around that say so, but there are high chances of seeing naked folks around the area when you get there.
