The Hearst Castle was designed by Julia Morgan in 1919 for William Randolph Hearst. It was completed in 1947, just four years before William Hearst would die. Six years after Hearst’s death, the castle was donated to the state of California by Hearst Corporation. Since then, the building became a historic museum where collection or antiques, arts, and other works were exhibited for public viewing.

William Hearst used to call the castle La Cuesta Encantanda or The Enchanted Hill. In the castle, you will find the Neptune Pool, which has undergone several renovations to suit the taste of the owner.

Even though the caster is far from urban areas, it still attracts a great deal of visitors, reaching to a million every year.
