The Jug Handle State Reserve is a state park and nature reserve in Caspar, California. It is noted for its natural set-up?s uniqueness.

Located on the Mendocino coast, the Jug Handle State Reserve is also a recreation area. It is open to the public for various activities like hiking, scuba diving, wildlife viewing, fishing, and surfing. However, its main attraction is its five wave-cut terraces. This area was formed hundreds of thousands of years ago through sea and tectonic activity, as well as glacier. The park offers a 2.5 mile self-guided tour known as The Ecological Staircase to the public to explore this portion of the site.

With its 769 acres of area, the Jug Handle State Reserve also features other kinds of natural habitats like a pine forest, prairie, and a pygmy forest.
