The Lake Del Valle State Recreation Area is a state park and recreation area in Livermore, California. It is more like a lakeside resort more than anything, really, located 10 miles south of the city.
The Lake Del Valle State Recreation Area is named after its main feature, the lake. Five miles long, the Lake Del Valle is home to several kinds of water-oriented recreational activities. People enjoy swimming, fishing, windsurfing, and even scuba diving at the site. They have two swimming beaches, but lifeguards are only on duty during specific seasons.
Aside from the lake, the park also features 3997 acres of land that surrounds Lake Del Valle. It is most ideal for hiking, horseback riding, biking, camping and picnicking.
