The Lake Oroville State Recreation Area is a state park and recreation area in Oroville, California. It is best known for its scenery and excellent features.
The centerpiece of the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area is the Lake Oroville, a man-made lake created by the tallest earth0filled dam in the United States being 770 feet above the stream bed of the Feather River. It offers a wide range of outdoor activities like picnicking, boating, fishing, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, hiking, windsurfing, camping, swimming, water skiing, and many others. The site is also home to the Feather River Fish Hatchery.
To learn more about the area, the Lake Oroville Visitor Center also has a museum and several exhibits. This section of the park also has a 47-foot tower that provides excellent view of the surrounding area.
