The Los Osos Oaks State Reserve is a state park and nature reserve in Los Osos, California. The site is packed with natural and cultural history, making it highly important to preserve and conserve.
There are tons of things to see and enjoy at the Los Osos Oaks State Reserve. For one, it is home to at least give major plant communities (coastal sage scrub, coast live oak forest, riparian, dune oak scrub, and central coastal scrub). The giant coast live oaks tend to twist in various directions, creating wondrous shapes. The site is also home to several prehistoric sites, one of which is a Chumash site that is said to date as early as 1200 AD.
Visitors of the Los Osos Oaks State Reserve are warned about the poison oak, however. These plants are also quite abundant in the park.
