The Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park is a historic site and state park in Coloma, California. It preserves the site where gold was discovered by James W. Marshall at Sutter?s Mill back in 1848 which led to the ?greatest mass movement of people in the Western Hemisphere? and started the growth of the West.

It covers most of the historic town of Coloma, which is now considered as a ghost town and a National Historic Landmark District. It features several historic structures, a museum about the area, and a good number of costumed volunteers.

The park is open as a day-use site and the museum is open on Tuesdays through Sundays.
