The Monterey State Beach is a state park and protected beach in Monterey, California. It is a popular beach offering a wide range of water oriented activities.
Running from Monterey to Seaside, the Monterey State Beach is best known among paragliders. Thanks to the great winds that the area gets, such activity is easy to enjoy in the site. Surfing is also popular, due to the strong currents, as well as swimming, surf fishing, scuba diving, fishing, beachcombing, kayaking, kite flying, and boating. Visitors can also have picnics at the park as well as enjoy the tide pools at the site.
The Monterey State Beach can be easily reached being just off Highway One. Dogs, however, are not permitted at the site.
