Welcome to the ?Black Hole?, the home of the Oakland Raiders! The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment stadium that is famous for the National Football League?s most rabid and loyal football fans. Diehard supporters of the Silver-and-Black football team troop here every home game Sunday donning their best Raiders costumes. The coliseum is also home to the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball.

This coliseum was opened on September 18, 1966 after 4 years of construction. The creation of the stadium was brought about by the city?s desire to bring more people and business into the city. When the coliseum opened, it also opened the city as a viable metropolitan area for people to come and live in. Aside from hosting football and baseball games, the stadium also serves as venue for concerts and conventions in the city.
