The Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation area is a special recreational area for vehicular activities located in Cordova, California. It is part of the California State Parks System.

Located at the base of the Sierra Nevada Foothills, the Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area offers access to various obstacles and land features for use by off-highway vehicle enthusiasts and fans. There are various types of terrain and other geographical features to experience ranging from open grasslands, rolling hills, cobbled mine tailings, and even several difficult rock filled passages.

The present state vehicular recreation facility stands on the was once part of a gold rush area so mine tailings and other gold rush activities are readily seen in and around the area.
