The San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park is a state park and historic site in Escondido, California. It commemorates the takeover of California from the government of Mexico.

The San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park traces its roots back to May 1846 when the US Army?s most elite fighting unit known as the 1st US Dragoons were set out by President James Polk to California. In what later became as the town of San Pasqual, the Dragoons and the Mexican troops met and engaged in a bloody battle, known as the Battle of San Pasqual. It is known as the bloodiest of all in the state during the Mexican-American War.

The San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park offers living history programs and tours of the facility. Hiking trails and picnic areas are also available at the site.
