The Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park is a state park and historic site in Santa Cruz, California. It is designated as the California Historical Landmark # 342.
The Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park features the site of the Mission Santa Cruz. The mission was established in 1791 and served as a venue for ecclesiastical conversion of the natives. It is one of the smaller missions, but there are still quite a number of things to see and learn here.
Although the original church structure was destroyed in 1857, a replica of the original can be found on the site. There’s also one original structure on the site, which used to be a dormitory for Indian residents. The site is available for tours and the replica of the original church now serves as a museum.
