The Schooner Gulch State Beach is a state park and beach in Mendocino County, California. It is best known and loved for its scenic spot featuring the Mendocino coast where stunning sunsets can be viewed at the beach.

Featuring the Schooner Gulch, the Schooner Gulch State Beach is frequented for surfing, fishing, and picnicking. Some also come here to enjoy the wonderful scenery and to do some hiking and scuba diving. Others visit the site to also enjoy the Bowling Ball Beach, which is another popular draw of the state park.

Visitors of the Schooner Gulch State Beach may also find it interesting that the site is named after a legend that involved a schooner that was stranded on the mouth of the gulch. According to stories, this vessel was sighted on the area one evening but in the morning, traces of it were gone already.
