Thornton State Beach Rating: None

The Thornton State Beach is a former state park in Daly City, California. It is located at the end of the John Daly Blvd and south of Fort Funston.

The thing with Thornton State Beach is that it is already closed (as a state park), but it is still pretty much an open space that the public can access. This is because the site is slowly being eaten up by the ocean. Formed by a landslide during an earthquake in 1906, the site is not exactly the best masterpiece of Mother Nature, but it still provides a wonderful vista.

The site is still popular for picnicking, sightseeing, and hiking as it has always been. However, as it is not a state park anymore, there aren?t comfort stations available and most of the picnic tables are already falling to pieces.
