Vikingsholm is a historic mansion in Lake Tahoe, California. It is located on the shore of Emerald Bay and is considered as one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the country.

Built in 1929, the Vikingsholm was originally the summer home of Mrs. Lora Josephine Knight. Some parts of the house didn?t use nails or spikes and stuck with old fashioned construction methods using materials mostly from the locale. It contains 38 rooms and took 200 workers to complete it. The structure is furnished with handpicked pieces from Scandinavia.

Today, tours around the Vikingsholm are conducted. It proves to be a popular thing to do while in the area, especially since there are tons of things to see in the house with its unique and interesting architecture and story.
