The Wassama Round House State Historic Park is a state park and historic site in Ahwahnee, California. It preserves and protects the site where the local Native Americans used to gather for important events.
The Wassama Round House State Historic Park features the Wassama Round House as its center piece. It is a California Native American ceremonial roundhouse used as a ceremonial meeting place. It is a reconstruction completed in 1985 after location four previous structures of the sort. The third one was built in 1903 and was listed as the California Historical Landmark # 1001.
Visitors can enjoy picnicking at the Wassama Round House State Historic Park. Folks can also come and take part on the special events held here including the Gathering Day, which is usually held every third Saturday of October.
