Banff Gondola takes visitors to the top of Sulphur Mountain for the most spectacular views and photo opportunities in Banff National Park. The gondola ride is 7 minutes and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and downtown Banff. The elevation gain is roughly 2300 feet between the parking lot and the top, with an overall elevation at the top of around 7500 feet above sea level. An observation deck, historic weather station, tourist shops and a choice of restaurants can be found at the top. There is also a hiking trail up the eastern side for those into nature trekking.
