The Aspen Art Museum, or AAM, is a non-collection contemporary art museum founded in1979 and housed in a 9,000-square foot former Aspen hydroelectric plant. The building?s artistic reputation is highlighted by its location along the scenic Grande footpath. An American Association of Museum-accredited institution, the AAM aims to present the latest and most significant developments in the international contemporary art. The museum is notable for its innovative programs such as exhibitions, art education and public programs, community outreach and collaborations, workshops and seminars, and other immersive activities ? all to engage the audience to think, experience and appreciate art, society, and culture.
