The Barr Lake State Park is a state park, wildlife refuge, and recreation area in Brighton, Colorado. It is best noted for being a boating and wildlife watching haven.

Established in 1977, the Barr Lake State Park is best known for its boating and wildlife viewing opportunities. Within its 2715 acres is 12 miles of nature trails, almost 9 of which are located around the Barr Lake, the park’s namesake. The lake is also quite the center of the park, being where most of the popular activities are done. Boating is commonly enjoyed, although, there is a motor limit. Fishing is also frequently done by visitors, as well as kayaking. On the southern sections of the park, wildlife viewing stations are located. There’s also a nature center, informing visitors of the natural state of the area. Folks can spot Bald Eagles at the park during the winter months.
