Besides being the country’s only mountain zoo, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo also possesses the largest giraffe herd in the US. Even better, visitors may enjoy hand-feeding these delightfully tall creatures. Besides giraffes, the zoo also cares for more than 750 animals from all parts of the globe.

Voted as the “Best Place for Family Fun”, the zoo offers various exhibits such as the African Rift Valley, where visitors may enjoy interact with monkeys and meerkats. At My Big Backyard, children could play around with small animals as well as oversized flowers and a tree house. At Budgie Buddies, additional feeding encounters may be enjoyed.

When weather permits, visitors may ride the tram or Zoomobile during the weekends. Not to be missed as well is the Mountaineer Sky Ride during spring.
