Colorado is one of the oldest places in the US. It has been home to many Native American people, who, at some point called a certain area around here their home. One of the most notable of these groups is the Ancient Pueblo people, who were primarily cliff dwellers.

A trace of the Ancient Pueblo people can be found at the Cliff Palace in Mesa Verde National Park in Montezuma County, Colorado. It consisted of 23 kivas or round sunken rooms that play huge roles during ceremonies. Some parts of it were restored, as they were already in ruins during the 19th century.

Research show that the ancient tribe lived here at around 1190 to 1300 AD, although, there is no evidence as to the reason why they left.
