Don your best country clothes, hop onto the tractor and take a trip down memory lane at the Cross Orchards Historic Site in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The Cross Orchards Historic Site is a living history museum and historic district that depicts the rural life back in the days. It shows the life in the orchard during the turn of the 20th century. Unlike other static museum, this site is still bustling with life as the plants and equipments here are still used and cultivated regularly.

The orchard is not unlike a small city complete with the necessary stuff it needs to be operational. The site contains a small country store, blacksmith shop, workers? cottages, and collection of genuine vintage farm equipments. The orchard is also the repository of the largest collection of Uintah Railway cards in Colorado.

The site is always ripe for a visit. It is open year round for curious city dwellers. The orchard was once home to 22,000 apple trees happily planted inside its then 243-acre lands. The farm comes to life during harvest time, where they show the public how the delicious Apple Cider is made.
