Affectionately called ?the Ellie?, the 2,225-seater opera house was named after Denver?s ?first lady of opera, Ellie Caulkins. With a generous grant from the Caulkins family, the building was renovated to make the already-world class opera house unparalleled even among its contemporaries. The acoustic hall is comprised of four sections: balcony, loge, orchestra, and mezzanine.
