Established in the early 60?s, the Fort Restaurant is an award-winning restaurant that serves buffalo steak, fine beef, and seafood. It is referred to as ?Top of the Town: Classic Denver Restaurant? by the 5280 Magazine and named by Westwood as the ?Best Dinner Destination for Impressing the Folks?.

The property where the restaurant stands was originally owned by the Arnold family, Sam?l and Elizabeth. They wanted to build their home in the property to look like an adobe castle like the Bent?s Fort. They hired 22 men to construct the house and an architect, William Lumpkins, to design it for them. Unfortunately, the cost of the construction of the house exceeded the budget of the couple. So, they decided to put up a business in the first floor as suggested by the bank. In February in the year 1963, the Fort restaurant was opened to the public.

Up until today, the restaurant is owned by their daughter Holly. Its Pueblo Revival architectural style helped The Fort Restaurant to earn a place in the National Register of Historic Places.
