Georgetown, Colorado offers a number of attractions from the Georgetown Loop Railroad, Hamill House, Hotel de Paris Museum, and Guanella Pass which is a Scenic and Historic Byway. Georgetown, Colorado is a quaint, quiet town, just of busy Interstate 70 located just an hour west of Denver. Take exit 228 off the highway and take a right into town. Many recreational opportunities exist from mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing in our local lakes, to taking your ATV's up Argentine Pass to the top of Mt. McClellan. Check out Main Street for some interesting shops and things. Georgetown is also a National Historic Landmark.

Georgetown is nestled in between some of the most majestic peaks in the State, which of course means endless trails to pedal & climb, slopes to ski, streams to fish, raft & paddle, ride a train, shop,relive history, enjoy accommodations to relax in, and eat in some of the finest restaurants around. Make Georgetown your base while skiing this winter. Only minutes away from world class ski areas.

Georgetown has managed to keep its Victorian charm with many homes and buildings rich in this architectural style. It offes a variety of unique shops, boutiques, restaurants, and overnight accommodations owned by individuals who also enjoy this beautiful mountain setting.

A great hike, x-country ski, bike or jeeping road is the old Argentine Central Railroad bed. This road starts approximately 2.5 miles off of Guanella Pass road, taking you westbound to the top of Mt. McClellan. From the top, look directly at Grays and Torrey's peaks, two more of Colorado's fourteeners.

Georgetown offers much for the visitor to experience. This is a wonderful, small, victorian town with plenty to do and see. From galleries, ice cream parlors and gift shops, to the interesting history that put Georgetown on the Map. For over 30-years, the Georgetown Loop Railroad, Inc. ran the Georgetown Loop. They now operate the Historic Royal Gorge Route Railroad! Their scenic railroad is considered to be one of the nation's most scenic train lines.
