The Glen Eyrie Castle began as a big estate of William Jackson Palmer who was the founder the Colorado Springs and many railroads in the state. He was a general in the army during the 1800s and the estate was not as castle-like by that time. The estate was renovated in the early 1900s due to the general?s promise to his wife but when the whole family died, the castle was put on the market until the 1950s.

To date, Glen Eyrie Castle is now used as the international ministry headquarters of The Navigators, an international and ?non-denominational? Christian organization. It can be found in the foothills of Rocky Mountains and away from the busy and hectic city life. Glen Eyrie is used by the Navigators as a retreat space and conference center. Glen Eyrie also hosts special events and concerts. It is available as a venue for retreats, weddings and other events. There are also tours available around the castle. Tour packages include afternoon teas, pastries and scones. Visitors enjoy going around the castle because of its grandeur and rich history.
